ECO CARB is an environmentally responsible and cost effective alternative to virgin carbon black, manufactured from end-of-life tyres. Our Recovered Carbon performs as close to virgin carbon in commercial rubber, plastics application.

The Manufacturing Process :
ECO CARB is manufactured through controlled thermal decomposition of carefully selected feedstock of end-of-life tyres in specialized reactors. ‘The extracted carbon is passed through the contamination separation process to remove impurities in form of steel, fiber glass fragments and other metallic and non-metallic contents. The purified carbon is processed further through high accuracy particle size distributor equipment to achieve uniform particle size as required for proper compounding with rubber & plastics.

Composition of our recovered Carbon Black :
The carbon recovered in our process is not a new type of carbon. It is a mixture of original range of carbon black grades that were used in tyre formulation from N110 up to N774, along with inorganic contents such as Silica, Zinc Compounds and other trace elements used during rubber compounding.
Inorganic Compounds :
The normal inorganic content is approximately 12-18%. Tests via an outside certified laboratory shows that such inorganic content has no damaging effects to the physicals of final compound. In most cases, compound performance may be enhanced due to the make-up of inorganic content. Further in general inorganic contents such as Silica and Zinc Oxides are added at time of compounding.
-
9 – 12% Silica – this material has been found to be active and promotes reinforcement in all polymer compounds.
-
2-5% Zinc Oxide – Studies have shown that these small inconsistent amounts are not significant enough to alter curing time.
-
1-3% Sulphur
-
1-2% Inert Material – The remaining material is considered to be neither an advantage nor disadvantage to the performance of the final compound.
